🚀 Microsoft has unveiled the AI Diagnostic Orchestrator (MAI-DxO), an advanced system that diagnoses complex medical cases with over 80% accuracy—four times higher than the 20% average of generalist physicians.

When paired with OpenAI's o3 model, MAI-DxO reduces diagnostic costs by 20% compared to physicians and 70% compared to off-the-shelf o3. In tests involving 304 real-world cases from the New England Journal of Medicine, it achieved an impressive 85.5% accuracy while using fewer resources than experienced doctors.

However, the study noted limitations, such as an unrealistic case mix and the absence of real-world constraints. Despite these, researchers believe MAI-DxO could significantly enhance healthcare delivery, especially in remote or under-resourced areas. 🌍💡
