👍OpenAI has hired a psychiatrist with forensic experience to study the impact of AI on users’ psyche. The company collaborates with experts and conducted a study with MIT that revealed cases of malicious use of AI. Experts fear that chatbots can provoke suicidal thoughts or dangerous actions - for example, one psychiatrist, testing the AI ​​under the guise of a teenager, received advice to “get rid” of his parents. Previously, a 14-year-old teenager committed suicide after becoming infatuated with a virtual character, and a 35-year-old man with a mental disorder died in a shootout with police after succumbing to the incitement of ChatGPT. There have also been cases where AI caused delusional ideas in users, such as a sense of divinity. OpenAI says it is working to improve the AI’s reactions in sensitive situations and will adjust the models’ behavior based on new data.
