Hackers hacked the dam

✴️What are the consequences of this?

In April, hackers breached the control system of a Norwegian dam, fully opening a valve and increasing water discharge by 497 liters per second. According to Breivika Eigedom’s technical manager, Bjarte Steinhovden, no damage occurred since flooding would require 20,000 liters per second. The breach was likely due to a weak password. Authorities, including the police, were notified. That same month, a massive blackout hit Spain, Portugal, and southern France, causing chaos — transport halted, communications failed, and millions were affected. The cause remains unclear, with initial theories about "atmospheric-induced vibrations" later dismissed.
