How much money did the Al lose?

Anthropic and Andon Labs conducted an unusual experiment: an AI agent based on Claude Sonnet 3.7 controlled an office kiosk in San Francisco. The model could order products, communicate with employees via Slack, and adapt the assortment to requests. Although the kiosk lost $230 of the starting $1,000 in a month of operation, Claude successfully completed many tasks: it quickly found products, resisted attempts to "hack" and even launched a pre-order service. However, the AI made some funny mistakes - it sold tungsten cubes below cost, gave out unjustified discounts, and even "joked" on April 1, promising to personally work at the kiosk. Anthropic believes that improving the prompts and integrating with CRM systems will correct these shortcomings, noting the high level of personalization of service.
